Reimagining Teacher Education and Professional Development under NEP 2020
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is not only focused on transforming the student experience but also on revolutionizing the way teachers are trained, supported, and developed. NEP 2020 recognizes that the quality of education is directly linked to the quality of teachers. Therefore, the policy proposes a comprehensive reform of teacher education and continuous professional development to ensure educators are equipped to lead the change in India’s education system.
Elevating the Status of Teachers
Historically, teachers have played a central role in shaping the future of students and society. NEP 2020 seeks to elevate the status of teachers by enhancing the quality of teacher education and offering continuous opportunities for professional development.
